Are you looking forward to knowing the kind of sports that are doing well in Germany? In that case, it would be such a great injustice is we don’t recognize this and commend Germany for the same. It is never easy to find a country that does well in economy, industrialization, education, and proceeds to outshine the best leagues in respective sports. Well, here are the sports that Germans seem to love more and consequently they are doing great with new achievements ever new season, take a look:

  • Football

Would Germany exist without Bundesliga or would Bundesliga exist without Germany? Either way, you’ll agree that Bundesliga is one of the prestigious football leagues in the world alongside EPL, Serie A and La Liga. In fact, it would be correct to say that most cities are affiliations of various football associations. And also, don’t forget that the German National team attracts millions of fans around the world, not only because they won the 2014 world cup but because the team comprises of legendary players distributed in private clubs around the world.  If you also find yourself wandering in the streets on a weekend, you’ll probably end up in a stadium cheering up a local team. Football unites Germans; it’s no secret! Moreover, German comes second after Brazil for a record four-time world cup win, with the first one ever in1954 after beating Hungary three goals to two.

  • Formula-1

It seems like Formula-1 hype died with the likes of Michael Schumacher who not only put Germany in the world map but also did it very well and with passion. Back then, no one would afford to miss Michael Schumacher in action on Sunday’s afternoon and only if Germany could take the sport serious it would be greater like Bundesliga. Michael Schumacher won a total of 7 Formula One World Championships, which no one is yet to break as per now!

  • Golf

Like in many countries, Gold is still preserved for the rich and powerful in Germany, or maybe that is just the culture. In fact, the reason could be that no one can play golf without being an active member of a specific sports club, which is damn expensive. However, that is about the player ship; the fan base is still fantastic! For instance, Martin Kaymer is a proficient golfer known to almost everyone in each street of Germany. In 2011, he never disappointed as he remained at the top of the whole world for straight eight weeks!

  • Handball

German is widely known for its love for football, but unfortunately, all the bigger matches are played in bigger cities. So, that leaves the smaller town to enjoy this fun sport called handball. Well, handball did not only begin the other day as we have documented legends like Stefan Kretzschmar who have had successful careers at both local and international platforms. Remember, not only football brought World Cup home but the national handball team also did it in 2007, and this was for a record 8th time!

  • Boxing

Finally, who said that non-natives couldn’t make a sport great in a foreign country? Henry Maske and Max Schmeling did it great back then, and now still boxing has popularity all over the new unified Germany. And to bring you some shock, are you aware that Max Schmeling is the first and the only boxer in history to win a world-class heavyweight championship by disqualification? Well, let’s presume that it was a clear indication that nothing can step on German’s way of greatness to boxing!
